As anticipation begins to build for the 12th edition of We Are Africa in 2027, Cape Town is once again preparing to welcome the continent’s most influential high-end travel community. For over a decade, We Are Africa has brought together pioneering travel brands, industry leaders and passionate storytellers from around the world, creating a platform where meaningful connections are made and Africa’s travel narrative continues to evolve.

Alongside the main show, We Are Africa Local returns in 2027, offering an unrivalled opportunity for African-based high-end inbound buyers and travel suppliers to connect, collaborate and grow their businesses.
Taking place from 3–4 May 2027 at DHL Stadium in Cape Town, the 1.5-day programme has become an essential gathering for the continent’s travel professionals. Bringing together 250 local travel specialists and Africa’s leading travel brands, We Are Africa Local is designed to maximise valuable face-to-face engagement while creating space for genuine relationship-building.
At the heart of the experience are up to 21 pre-scheduled appointments, giving delegates direct access to some of Africa’s most sought-after travel suppliers, lodges, hotels, DMCs and experiences. From established industry leaders to emerging innovators, the show floor is a showcase of the extraordinary breadth and diversity of African travel.
But We Are Africa Local is about far more than meetings alone.
Throughout the programme, delegates can enjoy dedicated networking opportunities, shared meals with fellow industry professionals and the much-loved Stadium Sundowner, where the tribe comes together to celebrate, reconnect and continue conversations beyond the appointment diary. It is these moments of connection that have helped establish We Are Africa Local as one of the continent’s most valuable travel industry gatherings.
Building on extensive feedback from past attendees and ongoing collaboration with the tribe, the 2027 programme has been carefully shaped to create even greater opportunities for visibility, meaningful engagement and business growth. For exhibitors, it provides enhanced access to Africa’s most influential travel professionals in an environment designed to encourage purposeful conversations and long-term partnerships.
As Africa’s high-end travel landscape continues to evolve, We Are Africa Local remains a powerful reflection of the industry’s collective ambition. It is where expertise is shared, new products are discovered, partnerships are strengthened and the future of African travel takes shape.

The impact of the event is perhaps best captured by those who have experienced it firsthand.
“I feel it’s a great use of the remaining portion of the week before or after the main show. Fantastic suppliers relevant to the luxury industry that are often hard to meet due to travel schedules or just being on other sides of Africa. I loved it and felt it got even better than last year!”
– Alex Lategan, Journey Beyond
“High quality event, extremely well organised. Well-vetted suppliers, good meetings, new products and reconnecting with industry peers.”
– Holly Atkinson, Timeless Africa Safaris
“We Are Africa Local this year was perfect in every way. I had exceptional meetings, excellent coffee, delicious food, great facilities, intentional communication and all the necessary tools required for a seamless show. It was a wonderful event that allowed me to keep abreast of industry trends, learn about new products, meet new people and reconnect with special partners in a meaningful way.”
– Eluisa Di Benedetto, Great Plains Conservation
