Machaba Wild

Machaba Wild emerged to challenge the story that wild ecosystems may be rich in life, but poor in opportunity if left as they are.

We intend to create a different form of tourism that asks our visitors to adapt to the wild, instead of asking the wild to adapt to them.

We’re doing this through slower, immersive discoveries of ecosystems that don’t require clearing wilderness for ultra-luxury lodges, or dragging graders through wild places to create roads.

We’re also doing this through our approach to learning about and connecting with wild ecosystems. We’re also ensuring that if we add tourism to these wild places, that it’s used to further our conservation goals.  Asking our visitors to assist us with ecological monitoring programmes, sea turtle nesting patrols, and tracking the rhythms of the wild.

Instead of habituating wildlife for gratuitous sightings, we want guests to connect with the sights, sounds and clues out in the wild to discover and learn to anticipate how wildlife navigates and thrives off their own natural environment.  The intention is to create an experience where visitors are invited to tune into the wild, with all their senses.
